Infusion Therapy · Praxis Dr. Romanos

Infusion Therapy.
Not routine — targeted.

Medically indicated, individually dosed. Used when it makes clinical sense — not as a default.

Our Principle

We will honestly advise you whether an infusion makes medical sense in your situation — or whether a different investigation should take priority.

Infusion therapies do not replace causal diagnostics. They are used as targeted supportive measures — based on medical assessment and in the context of your overall situation. Intravenous administration allows direct availability in the bloodstream, without losses through the digestive tract.

Energy & Recovery

Support for fatigue, burnout or convalescence — when targeted optimisation of energy metabolism is indicated.

Immune System

Targeted support for increased susceptibility to infection or recurrent infections — via immune-relevant micronutrients.

Liver Support

Support for the body's own detoxification processes under increased hepatic burden — via glutathione as a central cofactor.

Stress Regulation

Support for autonomic dysregulation, sleep disturbances or stress-related fatigue — via neuroactive amino acids.

Distinction

Medical infusion therapy — not IV wellness.

Treatments

Our Infusions.

Iron Infusion

Iron carboxymaltose for lab-confirmed iron deficiency. A single intravenous dose replaces weeks of oral supplementation. Covered by basic insurance (KVG) when diagnosed. Possible indications: iron deficiency anaemia, pronounced fatigue with confirmed deficiency, reduced concentration and performance.

Fatigue Infusion

S-Acetyl-Glutathione (3,000 mg), complemented by vitamin C, B complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12) and amino acids. Targets mitochondrial energy metabolism. Possible indications: pronounced fatigue, burnout, convalescence, Long COVID.

Liver Support Infusion

S-Acetyl-Glutathione (3,000 mg) with high-dose vitamin C (12,000 mg) and liver-supporting micronutrients. Glutathione is a key cofactor in hepatic phase II conjugation and supports the body's own detoxification processes. Possible indications: increased liver burden, reduced performance, recovery after strain.

Immune Infusion

S-Acetyl-Glutathione (3,000 mg) with vitamin C (12,000 mg), taurine and arginine. Glutathione is involved in the function of NK cells and T lymphocytes. Taurine acts cytoprotectively, arginine supports circulation. Possible indications: increased susceptibility to infection, recurrent infections, convalescence.

Neuro-Stress Infusion

Arginine (2,000 mg), taurine and glycine (1,500 mg each), magnesium, glutathione (600 mg), choline (500 mg) and tryptophan (200 mg). An amino acid-focused formulation to support parasympathetic regulation and neuronal recovery. Possible indications: autonomic dysregulation, stress intolerance, sleep disturbances, fatigue with autonomic component.

Indication

When an infusion makes sense — and when it doesn't.

Medically indicated for:
  • Confirmed iron deficiency (lab-verified)
  • Pronounced fatigue or burnout
  • Increased burden or convalescence
  • Recurrent susceptibility to infection
  • Autonomic dysregulation or stress intolerance
  • Long COVID with fatigue component
We say no when:
  • An underlying condition has not been investigated
  • Hormonal imbalances exist without prior diagnostics
  • Chronic fatigue persists without cause clarification
  • The expectation of immediate results is the primary driver

Process

How an infusion works.

1
Initial Consultation & Lab

We assess your symptoms and determine whether an infusion is appropriate in your situation — or whether a different investigation is needed first.

2
Infusion at the Practice

Medically supervised treatment at our practice at Bahnhofplatz Zurich. The composition is individually tailored to your indication. Duration: approx. 30–60 minutes.

3
Follow-up Assessment

Joint evaluation of your response. If needed, adjustment of the composition or recommendation for further diagnostics.

Pricing

FAQ

Good to know.

What is S-Acetyl-Glutathione?

Glutathione is a key endogenous antioxidant and cofactor in hepatic detoxification. The S-Acetyl form is a stable variant with good intravenous bioavailability. It forms the basis of our glutathione infusions.

How long does an infusion take?

Typically 30–60 minutes, depending on the composition. You can relax during the treatment.

Do I need lab work beforehand?

For iron infusions, lab results are mandatory. For glutathione infusions, not necessarily for the first session — for unclear symptoms, we recommend targeted lab work beforehand to properly assess the indication.

Is it covered by insurance?

Iron infusion is covered by basic insurance (KVG) when deficiency is confirmed. The four glutathione infusions are private services at CHF 300.– per session.

Are infusions safe?

All infusions are administered under medical supervision. Significant side effects are rare. We discuss individual risk factors and contraindications during the initial consultation.

How many sessions are recommended?

That depends on your indication and response. Some patients benefit after just 1–2 sessions, others need a series. We advise you individually and honestly.

Clarity before treatment. Always.

Not every symptom requires an infusion. But when indicated, it can be a precise and effective tool. We decide this together — based on medicine, not trends.
